Send in the Clams

I was intrigued by this post about clams from [personal profile] corvidology -- characters who seal up their emotions until they explode.  I have long loved the character type but didn't know it had a name.

I thought about my characters, and I'm not sure I have one of this type.  I have plenty who hide emotions and/or injuries, but I'm not sure they're rigid enough.  And Heron, who really is Vulcan-like in manner, is fully fluent with his emotions, just has a fairly flat affect.

So if anyone is interested in this, feel free to ask for it in any relevant prompt call.

I was going to mention Shiv as a potential clam. (And he LIKES clams!) With the background he came from, expressing an emotion would reveal a weakness a potential enemy can use against you. (And the only emotions Big Mean Tough Villains are allowed to express are anger, lust, or pride that his favorite sportsball team has just scored a point. And it's no wonder Shiv has a hair-trigger; that appears to be common in men who've been in prison.
