Me neither. But not everyone is a linguist, anthropologist, or literary scholar. You kinda need to be a word nerd to appreciate the far-out fringes of poetry.
Back when I was designing coursework for adult remedial education in prison, I used to pair Cecil Taylor's very ivory-tower poems with prosaic ghetto poetry to demonstrate that black people could write the whole range. Most of the students had never seen anything like that, and had no idea that black people could write poetry at all.
