May. 12th, 2025 08:51 pmThe pink peony has bloomed. It was fully open earlier in the day, but then the rain made it close more. The color is spectacular. I was disappointed by the scent, though -- it's neither very strong nor very sweet. In contrast, the old white peonies are intensely fragrant. But it's nice to have variety.
Recently I bought a little fern, so I'm making a new terrarium. You can also see the previous Antique Jar Terrarium.

Today I collected some microfauna and added them to the antique jar terrarium. I think I got about a dozen isopods, which are locally called pillbugs, and in other places may be called woodlice, sowbugs, potato bugs, roly-polies, and so on. I also caught a couple of tiny millipedes, two earthworms, and maybe some springtails.
