ysabetwordsmith: (gift)
I had intended to write a batch of haiku for Father's Day, but yesterday wound up full of other posting activity instead. So I'm using my Plan B, which is to post "One Act of Pure Love," and I'm throwing in the rest of "Becomes the Saving Grace" so the third poem can be posted today.

Today is cloudy, muggy, and quite warm.

I fed the birds.  I've seen house finches, doves, and a squirrel.  There was a lady cardinal the other day.

I picked 1/3 bag of black raspberries, which is enough for a smoothie.  :D

The yellow Asiatic lily is blooming under the telephone pole.  On the patio, violas and Here-Lies-Butch daylily are blooming.

EDIT 6/20/21 -- I picked most of a bag of pie cherries.

EDIT 6/20/21 -- I cleared 3 spots in the prairie garden.

EDIT 6/20/21 -- I planted 3 spots in the prairie garden with native grasses and tallgrass prairie wildflowers.

The hollyhock is blooming!  This one is dark red.  :D

EDIT 6/20/21 -- I watered all the seed niches along the newly mowed patch of prairie garden.  I have almost notched the whole western edge of it.  I might get a couple more in later.

Lots of fireflies out.  <3

As it is dark and I am tired, I'm done for the night.

Today we made a smoothie with:

1 cup Ceres passionfruit juice
1 cup Brown Cow vanilla yogurt
1 banana
1/2 cup fresh black raspberries
1/2 cup ice

This one is bright purple and fairly smooth.  The berry flavor comes through well.  There's some grit left from the seeds though.
