ysabetwordsmithFolks have mentioned an interest in questions and conversations that make them think. So I've decided to offer more of those. This batch features hobbies.
Paint by number involves using a set of premixed paints to color numbered spaces on a preprinted canvas. It's easier than painting freehand and still turns out pretty well if you start with a good kit. Diamond painting is a recent variation that uses tiny crystals instead of paint.

Date: 2024-09-12 03:26 pm (UTC)I can think of four off the top of my head that are my favourites; two done by me and two done by my grandpa.
Of the ones I've done, I have a painting of a wolf amongst leaves, and a painting of a Paris street that seems to be a bit impressionist in style.
One of the ones from my grandpa is a wizard in a mystical cloudy background. Originally, it was supposed to be a Christmas gift for me to paint myself, but my grandparents didn't realize that the skill level was beyond me (I think I was 9 or 10 at the time). Since it was more complicated than expected, my grandpa painted it for me, then framed it and gave it back.
My other favourite of his is a painting of a train driving through a nature scene, with mountains in the background. It's a really lovely picture, abd if I remember correctly, that was one of the ones he let my sister and I help with.
