My take on the analysis is that 2 and 3 are as bad as each other. Both place the family in uncertainty, deportation leaving them in a state of, at best, starting from nothing, at worst, in the middle of a dictatorship or destablised nation where deported, while leaving them in a dangerous no-mans land of constantly looking over their shoulders fearing possible future deporting.

1 to 3 are all breaches of human rights, especially deporting parents and institutionalising the child!

Mention of "option zero" in this numbering scheme - internment camps, which 20th Century history is writ large with. Historically, option 0 frequently become option -1, death camps. Option -1 and option 0 are inevitable if the countries the US unilaterally deports to start turning the planes away. And some will, especially where they know a significan number of people on a given plane are actual US citizens being displaced for political and racist reasons.

The conventions on statelessness and citizenship exist for a reason, as do constitutional provisions on the birthright. Humans are not "garbage" to be dumped on another land.

This regression of the political system to barbaric dictatorialist practices is proof that those ordering these illegal extraditions and those willing to follow such orders are not fit to hold office. They should be removed from office by any means necessary. If legalistic methods for removing them prevail, I'll breath a sigh of relief.

Sadly, the slippery slope appears to have risen above the friction coefficient and these fascist pigs are entrenched in a citadel of institutionalism that has ultimately been corrupted by power 😔
