I've ordered the following seeds. Sunflowers and cypress vine are the main bird attractors; most of the others are for beneficial insects.

Folks have mentioned an interest in questions and conversations that make them think. So I've decided to offer more of those. This batch features hobbies.

Scuba diving is a hobby of taking a tank of air underwater, preferably somewhere interesting like an ocean but you can learn in a swimming pool. The name is short for Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. It's an expensive hobby because of the lessons and equipment required, but some vacation places do accelerated lessons and rent equipment.

Today is sunny and mild.  It's supposed to snow tomorrow, though, so that means I'm putting off the clearing of the daffodil and tulip beds.

I fed the birds.  I've seen a flock of sparrows and a fox squirrel.

I put out water for the birds.

The Details of Our Escape is a new tabletop roleplaying game from ENnie Award-winning game designer Tyler Crumrine, two-time Eisner-nominated comics artist Linnea Sterte, and Windham-Campbell Prize winner in fiction Renee Gladman. Played with a standard 28-tile set of dominos instead of dice, players control a caravan of over 2000 people in search of a new home. What they're leaving and what kinds of strange & wonderful sights they encounter along their journey is up to you. Which party members continue all the way to the caravan's final destination, however, is up to fate.

ysabetwordsmith: Damask smiling over their shoulder (polychrome)
This poem is spillover from the February 6, 2024 Poetry Fishbowl. It was inspired by prompts from [personal profile] wyld_dandelyon, [personal profile] nsfwords, [personal profile] readera, and [personal profile] see_also_friend. It also fills the "Nonsexual Touch" square in my 2-1-24 card for the Valentines Bingo fest. This poem has been sponsored by Anthony Barrette. It belongs to the series Polychrome Heroics.

WARNING: The protagonist's theme song is an earworm, he has Music Inducement, and that kind of thing sometimes works even across dimensions.

Warning: This poem also contains intense and controversial topics. Highlight to read the more detailed warnings, some of which are spoilers. It includes dysfunctional family dynamics, public use of superpowers, singing and dancing in public, emotional blurting, interruption of someone else's performance, accidental upcharging of superpowers, fistfight, blood, minor medical details, police (being helpful), emotional upheavals, and other challenges. If these are sensitive issues for you, please consider your tastes and headspace before reading onward.
